Quick Synopsis

You’ll laugh or cry at this endearing, coming-of-middle-age story of three thirty-something “man children” as they navigate their way around a bizarre, nouveau-rich, suburban town in Britain interacting with an eccentric group of locals at a cafe called The Glad.

Anger boils over when years of resentment and jealousy are revealed as Stu, Marco and Dave try to reconcile who each has become with whom each wants the others to be.

Stu’s inability to control his addiction reminds us that the lives of our closest friends often spiral out of control no matter how much we invest in their survival and there is nothing we can do to stop it.

Their juvenile behavior is still hilariously funny, but adult relationships require childhood antics to be left behind or even love will find someone else.

Pirates and Bristol Rolvers is a poignant, dark comedy in which we may see a little bit of ourselves and certainly our friends in the embarrasing actions of Stu and Marco who refuse to grow up and ultimately Dave who finally moves on.
